Cut edge corrosion describes the most common initial stages of metal cladding sheets breaking down. In short, it is where the cut edge of the metal cladding sheets become exposed to the elements and we see signs of peel back of the factory coating followed by corrosion on the metal beneath. Our industry leading system, Seamsil, will treat this problem and provide a ten year guarantee to give you peace of mind at the lowest cost.

If cut edge corrosion is not addressed quickly it will eat into the metal sheet causing weaknesses in the building structure, allowing water into the building. After the leaks start, the condition of the cladding will deteriorate rapidly, dramatically affecting the value of the building and considerably increasing maintenance and repair costs.
Our cut edge corrosion treatment begins by thoroughly cleaning and preparing the affected area of rusting and delamination, followed by the application of our three part Seamsil application coating system.
1. Seamsil sealant is applied to the edges, using a gun, to bridge the gap of the lap where cut edge corrosion has occurred.

2. Seamsil sealant is now applied over the top of the sealed gaps using a brush.

3. Then, a topcoat of Seamsil is applied over the treated cut edge corrosion to match the existing colour of the roof.

4. Finally, the cut edge corrosion cure is complete, increasing the value of the building and ensuring it is watertight.

We can normally give a budget costing for Seamsil application prior to a site visit if you have drawings and images available to email.
